Christmas in the Mission Field is Different & Special

We spent the holidays with these lovely missionaries. We all had one thing in common, we were away from our family. This gave us all the opportunity to focus on the Savior Jesus Christ and serve others. This common thread kept us from getting too homesick. We considered the VC our decorated home for the month, as we spend six days a week there. No need for a tree at our condo.

We enjoyed face time with our family before we went to Beckstrands for dinner. We heard about their gifts and celebrations and had nice visits. Eventually we got in touch with everyone. We enjoyed many lovely cards, gifts and pictures from family and friends. We did miss them and all the celebrating together.

Before dinner the Sisters played some games. We brought the funeral potatoes (three big batches) When we got to the Beckstrands we played this game with them. They had to follow direction and draw on the plates without looking. It was a Christmas Tree etc. It was funny to see what everyone had drawn, if you could tell anyway. We had prizes and lots of laughs!
Whenever we eat at the Beckstrands, everything is delicious and that was true again. Here is Sister Taboada, Sister Younce and Sister Rios enjoying the ham dinner with Sister Beckstrand's delicious homemade rolls.
More of the game!

The whole group except the seniors.

The Sisters were so grateful to get to spend the day together and have fun and good food.  What an amazing group!
